I will be booking up for Christmas very quickly as I am only able to complete two to three sculptures a week. If you are wanting a likeness of your dog or cat for Christmas I recommend getting your order in as soon as possible to fit on the Christmas schedule.
When commissioning a wool likeness of your fur kid, the first step is to fill out the following form. If you are ordering more than one sculpted portrait, please fill out a form for each pet.
I will respond to this form with an estimated finish date for your order. Upon your approval I will send you an invoice for your 50% commission deposit and your place will be held on the schedule. The remaining balance and shipping cost will be due at the completion of your commission.
If you are unsure about where you dog fits into the pricing range, feel free to send me a photo or description and I will be happy to help.
I ask that you send to me as many photos as needed to show your dog's/cat's face, feet, tail and all markings. It is also very helpful to have at least one standing profile shot to help me understand the shape of your pet's body. I will respond to let you know that I have received your photos and I that am all set to move ahead with the likeness of your dog/cat or if I have any questions about markings, etc. You may take up to a week to send your photos to me at ameliamakesart@comcast.net. When your sculpture has been completed I will send you a link to a group of photos so that you may see it in the round. Here is an example of the photos you will receive. Click on the thumbnails to see enlargements. At this time I am able to make small changes if needed. Otherwise, with approval of your sculpture, I will ship your fur kid off to you once your final payment is received.
The length of time it takes to complete your order is based on how many orders I already have on the schedule. The wait time can be anywhere from 4 weeks to 9 months. I will reply to your first request with a estimated finish date. To hold the date you will need to make a 50% non-refundable deposit.
Once we have agreed on the estimated date, I will send you a paypal invoice which you may pay using your paypal address or with a Visa or Mastercard. If you choose, you may also send a check or money order. Checks or money orders must be received within 7 days of placing your order to hold your place on the production schedule. Upon completion of your sculpture you can pay the remaining 50% and cost of shipping. Although my commissioned work is non-refundable I will do everything I can to make sure you are completely happy with your finished piece. Packages within the US will be shipped with insurance so if there is a matter of loss or damage in the mail we will be able to recoup your investment. Please inquire about insurance costs for shipments outside the US.
